Sodexo Maintenance Manager Brandon Thomas is a Nixa graduate and cares deeply about the school district he works for. That dedication shows as he and his crew fix broken doors, hang SMART TVs, and get the high school gym ready for events like a Homecoming Dance. They work in every building and plow every parking lot when the snow falls. While few people notice them in hallways or classrooms, the district can’t operate without their skill set and know-how. Thank you to the entire Sodexo team for all your hard work!

High Pointe Elementary families came together to celebrate the joy of reading and the importance of literacy! Students and their families enjoyed donuts together while participating in a variety of literacy-themed activities, including fun games and listening to a story.
High Pointe staff love welcoming families into the school and creating opportunities for them to be part of their child’s educational journey. Building a strong connection between home and school plays an important role in supporting student success.

Assistant Volleyball Coach Emelie Scott knows firsthand the impact a strong mentorship program can have. As a high school student, Coach Scott participated in a “Bigs and Littles” program that made a lasting impression on her. This year, she brought that idea to Nixa, and the volleyball program put it into action. The program pairs older and younger players to help build relationships, encourage one another, and bring the team closer together. Coach Scott has noticed the program has already made an impact on the girls' lives.

Four of our elementary schools got a special history lesson last week as members of the Nixa chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution visited to commemorate Constitution Week. The ladies, whose ancestors fought in the American Revolution, shared stories about the U.S. Constitution. Students actively participated, as a few were chosen to play key roles in the event.
